I know it's been awhile guys don't shoot!! Haha life has been super busy and I'm sure you all know how that can get. I've missed blogging so here I am. I wanted to do a quick recap on a trip I took earlier this month to the Made in America Music Festival in Philly. Let me just first say how awesome Philly was I didn't meet one person I didn't like everyone was super kind and chill. The city is beautiful filled with rich culture awesome museums & delicious foods. The Festival was nothing short of spectacular as well! Don't get me wrong your feet will hurt your shoes will be stepped on ! & you will be hot but it was well worth it all! There were many great performers but we all know why I was there wait for it......BEYONCÉ! & of course she didn't disappoint J.Cole was definitely a favorite for me too. I will be returning next year and I hope to see some of you there. Below are some of the pictures from my trip I hope you enjoy.

Snowed in.

Blowing the dust off my blog on this snowy day. I've been missing you guys so much!!! It's just been hard finding time to blog hence the hiatus but I'm back & hopefully better than ever. My love of slouchy t-shirt dresses lives on I saw this dress on Asos and I knew I had to have it, also it should be noted I am in love with this shade of green it makes me happy and you'll be seeing a lot more of it.

Scandal Thursdays Anyone?

OMG! Scandal is just one day away are you as excited as I am? Scandal is my absolute favorite fall show and I am just ecstatic that my gladiators will be back on tomorrow. Which brings me to the reason for this post I know everybody celebrates differently but for me Scandal starting up again means that my friends and I no matter how busy our schedules get, commit to getting together once a week to not only watch and commentate on Scandal's twists and shocking turns but also to dish on what's going on in our lives. I host Scandal Thursdays at my house and of course no party is complete without exciting cocktails and tasty appetizers. So if your like me and your hosting a Scandal Party with your favorite people here are a couple drinks that are sure to be a HIT. Also don't be afraid to have fun with your Scandal Party make it a black tie event or any other fun theme you and your friends would enjoy really have fun with your Thursday night I'm sure you all deserve it!

Apple Cider Punch

This cocktail is quick easy & very delicious

1 part Apple cider

1 part Pomegranate juice 

1 part Captain Morgan 

Raspberry Limoncello

I call this one summer in a glass

1 lemon

4 basil leaves (roughly torn)

6-8 raspberries

1/2 teaspoon of fine sugar

1 ounce Limoncello

1 ounce Citron Vodka 

Top with champagne & ice

There was a time when white was a color many people, even I would shy away from. That time is now over and I must say I'm loving all the all white monochrome ensembles. I find myself gravitating to everything and anything white every time I go into a store it's the first thing that catches my eye. So I thought I would share my new found love with you guys. & we are "Brunching"

So over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful event jam packed with good vibes, good drinks, and a genuine good time. The Beauty Brunch, hosted by the beautiful Shay Lyn of Noluxelost.com certainly did live up to my expectations. It turned out to be a great way to end the week and definitely a refreshing way to begin a new one. What I enjoyed most about The Beauty Brunch aside from the bottomless mimosas (of course) was seeing a group of black women together all in one room supporting each other no drama just a real chill environment. I also enjoyed the services provided by the ladies of Z Luxury nails they were professional and had a beautiful array of color to choose from for your nail refresh. I loved my 10 minute massage provided by the ladies at Escape Massage Therapy. Also rounding out the itinerary, a make-up presentation & photo booth, everything a girl could ask for even shopping!! With stunning jewels from Stella Dot & drool worthy custom floral headpieces it was truly an experience and you know me I'm a sucker for details I enjoyed the patterned pink straws in my mimosas & the adorable pink serving trays they really added a nice personal touch. I look forward to more events like these where us girls can get together and just really celebrate ourselves. In fact I'm thinking of putting together a similar event. Hair!!!

In the past 6 months I've had a variety of different hair styles I chopped it all of & opted for a fade, I dyed it platinum blonde, I've have a chic blonde bob, I've had super long poetic justice braids  & honestly I've has fun with all the extremes  & everything in between. I am now growing it back I'm not sure how long (lol) but for now that's the movement. Cutting my hair I would still say was one of my best decisions. So many of hide behind what society deems beautiful, long hair being one of them. When your hair is short there is nothing to take away from your undeniable beauty. Nothing to distract anyone from the features that make you uniquely you and if your thinking about the jump I would encourage you to take it & experiment with your look until finding what you like best! Wether short or long I'm sure you will rock it!! Here is a few looks I've tried in case you need some inspiration

"Shifting"

So I have recently gained some weight and haven't been feeling the most comfortable in bodycon dresses which used to be a big fav of mine. I have been more so gravitating toward shift dresses in just about every color and pattern. They still allow me to feel confident and sexy while masking my problem area (my tummy).Channeling my inner Rih-Rih in this look I entitled Rebel. Do you like? I would wear this look to ladies night or date night it's glamorous enough for the girls but still sexy for a night out with your special someone. Also I've been really into dark lips, makes me feel so bad ass! How do you guys style your shift dresses?

Friday where art thou?

Lately my life has been pretty hectic and Friday nights haven't been coming soon enough. Last Friday I got to enjoy a night out complete with cocktails and lots of laughs. I got a chance to wear my Palm Tree Dress from Asos (of course) that I LOVE. I wasn't sure how I would style it but I decided on wearing it with my neon pumps and a deep red lip. I've been really enjoying "Diva" from MAC especially with my new blonde mane! How have you guys been celebrating the end of your work week?

Unicorn Nation!!

When I saw this shirt appear on Asos naturally I had to have it because it basically spoke my life!! I styled it here with my new Zara heels & go to Aldo clutch. I love how this look is more relaxed but still polished & playful. I hope you enjoy!

There are just some trends you can only wish companies would make in plus size, a printed short set used to be apart of that list for me until of course Asos to the rescue. I eyed this short set for a few weeks before finally deciding to make the purchase at 4am in the morning (peak online shopping hours) of course. Boy am I glad I made the purchase because it sold out the same day I received mine in the mail. It's beautiful in person the colors are nice and bright right on trend for spring & it soooo comfortable definitely the kind of outfit that will be worn over and over again. I styled it with a statement necklace & a fun clutch I snagged from Francesca's on sale earlier this year. I'm also rocking a blonde bob right now inspired by Malaysia from Basketball Wives and I'm loving it! Its so fun! Hope you guys enjoy the look.
